This Hot Chocolate Mug Cake is for those moments when the chocolate craving hits and waiting is not an option. In just a couple of minutes, a Nellie’s Free Range Egg turns a packet of hot cocoa into a soft, spoonable chocolate cake with real structure and richness. It’s quick, cozy, and perfectly portioned, making it ideal for last-minute dessert needs, late-night treats, or a little afternoon pick-me-up. Top it however you like and enjoy a small, chocolatey moment of kindness to yourself.
Instructions
- Place butter into a coffee mug and microwave for 20-30 seconds to melt.
- Remove the mug from the microwave, and crack one Nellie’s Free Range Egg directly into the mug with the butter.
- Pour one packet of hot chocolate mix into the mug and stir vigorously to combine well.
- Add chocolate chips, if using.
- Microwave for 40-55 seconds or until chocolate cake mixture has structure but is still gooey.
- Remove from the microwave and top with whipped cream, mini marshmallows, chocolate sprinkles, and/or raspberries.
