Every year, I look forward to kicking off the holiday season with a little bit of winter wonderland magic. So today, I've teamed up with Nellie's Free Range Eggs to share a few easy, delicious, and cozy ideas for hosting an adorable winter wonderland themed party right at home! This party is totally doable, and I hope these instructions will inspire even the busiest parents to create delightful memories with their own children.
Just like the first snow each winter, this themed party is exciting, thrilling, and full of cheer. Needless to say, the kids will absolutely love it! Instead of working with an all-white color palette, I opted for a combination of white, soft pink, and shades of purple. I love the frosty, cool look of these hues and how they tied the winter wonderland theme together in my home.
For my winter tablescape, I created a balloon cascade and hung a beautiful white acrylic chandelier above the table. To add height and a wintery feel to my setup, I incorporated two faux fur trees. In addition, I used a white pom pom garland that resembles snowballs as an accent fixture. Any white decorations, ornaments, and other treasures you can find in your craft closet or at your local craft store are great to start with! I was inspired by Daydream Society's beautiful Frosted collection, so I had to include their temporary tattoos as party favors at each place setting. Iridescent accents have been so trendy lately, and are defintely a must if you want to add a shimmery, sparkling, snow-like element to your party décor.
Speaking of snow, I made coconut snow cake balls to add to my treat table. They are super easy to make, and they will look absolutely stunning as part of your winter wonderland tablescape. And no winter party is complete without hot cocoa! Make my favorite pink hot cocoa to coordinate with your party décor and sip alongside your yummy snow cake balls.
These snow cake balls are such a treat to make and eat. Have your kids help you roll and dunk them in white chocolate and shredded coconut. That's half the fun!
Finally, arrange your finished snow cake balls on a dessert stand or in a bowl. They make the perfect snack for any winter wonderland party. Celebrating a winter birthday? Instead of making individual cake balls, roll them into larger balls, then stack with skewers to form a snowman cake!
Including a craft or activity in your party planning is always a good idea. My daughter and I made a snowflake mobile using Nellie's Free Range Egg cartons, and we are in love with how beautiful it turned out! It's such a fun and nostalgic winter craft idea for both kids and adults to take part in.
To make this frosty and festive snowflake mobile, my daughter and I reused the empty egg cartons from our recycling bin, along with a few other supplies. Here's everything you'll need to make your own mobile:
To put them together, you'll need to cut the "cups" out of your empty egg cartons, then cut six slits in each cup to create a snowflake shape. Next, paint your snowflakes and sprinkle with glitter before they dry. My daughter helped me create five garlands using clear string, which we attached together by poking holes into a retangle made from the lid of an egg carton. Don't they look magical?
I hope you feel inspired to create your own winter wonderland party. Stay warm this season!
