There are so many ways to celebrate spring, especially with kids in tow. Pull on your galoshes and splash around after a rain, go on a scavenger hunt at your local park, and just enjoy the fresh air that comes with this new season! When the weather warms up and the flowers start to bloom, it's the perfect time to bring some of the beauty and vibrancy of springtime indoors. Start with a fun, hands-on activity that gets your kids involved in those spring gardening projects: speckled eggshell planters!
For a fun afternoon activity during the warmer months, the kids and I love making planters out of eggshells. According to my son (who usually can’t sit still), it's a really relaxing activity that's great for play dates, birthday parties, Easter, and any other occasion you can think of. We splatter-painted the eggshells the day before we planted them so that they were dry and ready to be handled when filling and finishing them the next day. They turned out so festive and add a pop of happy, bright color to our windowsill!
Time for the kids to fill their planters!
This activity is not only loads of fun for the whole family, but it makes for a festive and decorative display for your kitchen or windowsill, too. These little planters will definitely brighten up any corner of your house!
I hope you enjoyed this spring crafting idea, my friends! Happy planting!
